WordPress has passed 40% market share of all websites, up from 35.4% in last year. The stats come from W3Techs with numbers derived from the Alexa top 10 million websites, along with the Tranco top 1 million list. By W3Techs’ estimates, every two minutes, another top 10m site starts using WordPress. WordPress is used by 64.3% of all the websites whose content management system we know. This is 40.0% of all websites.
WordPress’ market share is even higher among the top 1,000 sites with 51.8%, and captures a staggering 66.2% for new sites.
