UE helps MED-EL communicate about its hearing loss solutions

A genuine effort to help others
MED-EL is a global technology company that researches in the field of hearing loss and develops and manufactures implantable hearing systems. These include cochlear implants, middle ear implants, bone conduction hearing implants, electric acoustic stimulation hearing implant systems and auditory brainstem implants. The company is headquartered in Innsbruck, Austria and was founded in 1990. MED-EL is a private company and is managed by its co-owner Ingeborg Hochmair, who is an internationally acclaimed scientist and researcher.
Austrian scientists Ingeborg Hochmair and Erwin Hochmair developed the first passive single-channel cochlear implant. The implantation of this device took place in 1977 in Vienna and was a milestone in the treatment of deafness. After further developing the technology the Hochmair’s went on to found MED-EL, in Innsbruck, Austria in 1990. Since 2003, the American physiologist and award-winning inventor Geoffrey R. Ball has become CTO of the company’s business unit VIBRANT MED-EL.
MED-EL website is a great, well-organized resource that provides genuinely useful information about hearing loss and of course, MED-EL products. Information is well organized and effectively presented with accompanying multimedia visuals. This complex WCM solution is both multimarket, and multilingual.
United Experts’ advising was instrumental to ensure architecture, development, and editorial implementation of this robust WCM solution were optimized for usability, performance, and security. United Experts enabled the amazing MED-EL digital team to maintain this complex project independently through extensive coaching of developers, marketers, and content editors. We also streamlined the CMS workflow to enable efficient content staging which greatly contributes to safe and efficient content editing while enabling possibilities for content experimentation.
MED-EL is one of those companies that is genuinely dedicated to improving the quality of life for people all across the world. One can truly feel that genuine effort to help others right after stepping into their Innsbruck office. For UE and me (Boris Motusic) this project brought even more special feelings as I went back to see places where some of my family used to live and visit when I was a child. Visiting Innsbruck and working with Thomas, Pablo, Eduardo, and the rest of the MED-EL team was a true pleasure with a sense of occasion.
