Digital Transformation at Australian Government

The Australian Federal Government is showing how governments and the public sector should approach digital transformation.

The Australian Federal Government is showing how governments and the public sector should approach digital transformation. Its Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) launched a new digital transformation strategy setting out a roadmap designed to make the country a world leader in digital government by 2025. Specifically, the Government will digitize all public interactions with its departments and agencies in an effort to cut bureaucracy and provide simple, clear and fast public services

What’s most impressive with DTA is their apparent understanding of digital transformation and how to utilize it to benefit the public sector. They delivered a great roadmap which is superbly communicated. They are setting data exchange, design, API, and digital service standards. They are providing starter templates. For example a website starter template. All that is communicated in a simple, modern manner, through GitHub repositories, npm, superbly organized websites with specific focus, like this one that focuses on uniting teams that create digital services, through inclusive design, open-source code, and shared insights.

Well done DTA! Clearly an example to follow.
