Nevertheless, we not only met their expectations but also went above and beyond by crafting a compact yet impactful website for them. Witnessing the joy and satisfaction on their faces was a priceless reward that transcended any financial compensation. Open Source & Open Data

Open source software can be freely used, changed, and shared by anyone. At United Experts we are particularly enthusiastic about it’s affordability, transparency, perpetuity, flexibility, and interoperability. It is a well-suited foundation for digital equality and other principles we stand for. Fortunately, open source is now clearly winning a two-decade long battle: it powers above 90% of web servers and 485 out of 500 top supercomputers.

Digital Equality

Digital equality is not only achieved by assuring access to quality Internet services, connectivity, devices, applications, and know-how. Even more important is an equal distribution of benefits gained through technology. Unfortunately, the more prosperous is economy, the less equal is the distribution of tech benefits. That is why United Experts contributes to the principles of open systems, open platforms, open source, and generally the Internet approach vs. closed apps, proprietary systems, and platforms.

Our Story

Andreana & Boris, United Experts Co-Founders

Hello there, I am Boris and as a United Experts co-founder, I would like to informally introduce you to our story and Andreana, my business and life partner for 26 years.

Boris Motusic, Co-Founder & Chief Solutions Architect

For me, technology is all about optimization. When I began learning computer programming at the age of 14, I was never particularly impressed with the machines themselves. My focus was always on utilizing technology as a tool to assist people in achieving their goals, without challenging their lifestyles or values. In order for technology to be truly useful, it must be easy to use, reliable, and ideally, ubiquitous. I firmly believe that technology should be leveraged to create a better work-life balance and foster greater prosperity for more people. I'm a strong advocate for people, community, and humanity. I enjoy making friends with individuals from diverse backgrounds and walks of life. I take pleasure in sailing, exploring the outdoors, savoring good food, and attending cultural events of all sorts. Above all, I prioritize my family and am grateful for the opportunity to be a father to two wonderful daughters.

Dr. Andreana Baeva-Motusic, Co-Founder & Director of Project Development

Andreana has been my partner in both business and life for the past 26 years. We met at The University of Tampa in Florida and have been on a remarkable journey together ever since. There are many words that can describe Andreana, but if I need to choose only one, it would be reliability. She approaches every responsibility with an unwavering commitment to perfection and seriousness. For instance, Andreana maintained a straight-A record throughout her entire academic career, from elementary school to her PhD. As someone who has seen her working tirelessly behind the scenes, I can attest to her extreme dedication to ensuring that everything she does is of the utmost quality. This includes sacrificing sleep to deliver on a project she has committed to, as well as juggling a busy schedule of caring for our children and their school activities. In her professional life, Andreana's clients view her as a successful, ambitious, and dedicated professional. On the other hand, her close friends see her as an equally devoted mother who doesn't seem to rest. Andreana has a remarkable ability to organize government summits and kids' birthdays with the same level of ease and joy! In addition to her critical contributions to numerous United Experts projects, Andreana has also collaborated with national and local governments, gaining extensive experience managing diverse stakeholders in various public and community digital transformation initiatives. Andreana has a deep appreciation for life, people, and culture. She always delivers, no matter the challenge.

Our Community Spaces

Spaces for teamwork and community engagement

United Experts is a pioneer in distributed teams and remote working. Although this approach is now becoming more popular, we began implementing it in 1999. However, we still believe that physical spaces are extremely important for our team and our community. While we primarily work from our professional-grade home offices, we regularly gather in physical spaces for teamwork, brainstorming, celebrations, or simply to socialize.

These spaces are also where we engage with our community through training, talks, courses, workshops, presentations, and other interactions. We collaborate with long-term partners to rent prime locations, where we then customize the spaces to suit our needs with our own equipment, decorations, food and drink options, and additional services to provide an exceptional experience. Our Community Spaces are a combination of café, lounge, living room, and office. They offer a vibrant yet relaxed atmosphere, where everyone feels at home, like the Flora space at Dallington Street in London (pictured below) which is our favorite.
